This page has some examples of timelines that you can create with the Historical Timeline Creator. Timelines like these can be created by simply typing text into the app and adjusting the width of the browser window. The headers, bars and lines are all laid out automatically. Note: When looking at the timelines below on a small screen, try rotating your device for a better view.

Ancient History

A timeline showcasing ancient events.

The Historical Timeline Creator excels at visually conveying concepts and events from ancient history. These timelines can complement historical narratives, giving readers a visual sense for the people, events and time periods involved.

The timeline below depicts some of the common time periods and earliest mentioned rulers in the history of ancient Egypt. It uses red and white colors to represent the Red and White kingdoms of upper and lower Egypt.

Family History

A visual genealogical record.

The Historical Timeline Creator isn't just for ancient history. Use it to visualize your family history and pass on a legacy to future generations.

Here we see some key events from the history of a family around the turn of the 20th century. It uses even spans to convey "fuzzy" dates when the exact years aren't known. The black and yellow colors give it a somewhat classic look.

To boldly go where no timeline has gone before.

You aren't even technically limited to real history. Let your imagination run free and create timelines for your favorite sci-fi and fantasy worlds!

Below is a timeline of some interesting events from the series Star Trek: The Next Generation. The timeline was cooked up using the AI feature of the app and a few rounds of prompting to get to a decent set of events.

Résumé/CV

Make your experience stand out.

We all play our own parts in history, and sometimes that's reflected in the jobs that we do over time. Add a timeline to your résumé/CV to make it stand out from the rest.

Here's a timeline depicting a career of a software developer. It demonstrates the use of emojis, which might be a good or bad idea for a résumé.
